AIDS Engineering

The Department of Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Data Science is established in the year 2022 – 2023, The Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Data Science Program is started with the aim to develop core competence in the emerging fields of Computer Science and Engineering and prepare students to the take up future challenges and opportunities. The program is designed to meet the current and future needs of the industry. The department has well qualified and experienced faculty members with the zeal and determination that pushes them to strive for the continuous betterment of the students. The curriculum of Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Data Science is newly designed and updated and mapped to the current IT Industry trends and requirements. Nearly every industry demands Artificial Intelligence and Data Science talent for emerging applications, example: Software and IT Industry, Banking, Finance, E-Commerce, Healthcare and Health Technology, Marketing, Energy, Education Technology, Agriculture, Manufacturing, Construction etc. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science provides different careers opportunities including: Data Scientist, Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, Research Scientist, Business Analyst, Data Architect, Machine Learning Engineer, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Architect, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Consultant and Product Manager, Computer Vision Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, Neural Network Developer, Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer.

PEO1 : Preparation: To strive for overall personality development of students so as to nurture not only quintessential technocrats but also responsible citizens and to steer the organization towards becoming a pace setting centre of excellence.

PEO2: Core Competence: To educate students with the fundamentals of engineering sciences, basic Mechanical engineering, mechanical design and analysis to improve their overall engineering skills so that graduates will able to design mechanical systems containing functionality, aesthetics, safety, cost effectiveness and sustainability.

PEO2: Breadth: To inculcate in students professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, teamwork skills, multidisciplinary approach and an ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.

PEO3: Professionalism: To inculcate the value systems & ethics, leadership and team work skills, bring holistic development of personality and to promote entrepreneurial thinking among students

PEO4: Employment avenues: As per the fast changing global trend and demand, to make the students aware and assist for offering employment in various sectors.

Program Outcomes (POs)

Engineering Graduates will be able to:
PO1. Engineering knowledge:


Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2. Problem analysis:


Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3. Design/development of solutions:


Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4. Conduct investigations of complex problems:


Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5. Modern tool usage:


Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6. The engineer and society:


Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7. Environment and sustainability:


Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8. Ethics:


Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO9. Individual and team work:


Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO10. Communication:


Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO11. Project management and finance:


Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO12. Life-long learning:


Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

PSO1 Knowledge of Fundamentals: Graduates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the fundamental concepts, principles, and theories of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

PSO2 System Development: Students should be capable of integrating AI methodologies with data science practices to address complex challenges in diverse domains such as healthcare, finance, marketing, and social sciences.
