Department of Management Studies was established in 2008. The department offers two-year full-time MBA postgraduate program. The Specializations offered under MBA course are namely Marketing, Human Resource, Finance and Production / Operations.The department has a competent & positive minded head with a team of qualified, experienced & dedicated faculties having industrial & academic background who strive for achieving academic excellence. The goal of the department is to develop not only a thorough management professional but also a multi-faceted personality & a responsible citizen for the society.
Besides regular curriculum, students are given exposure to soft skill development, public speaking, team building, brain storming, seminars, debates, live projects, expert lectures by eminent personalities from corporate sectors. Presentations on current affairs, core subject topics are regularly arranged in the department to develop the presentation skills. Additional sessions for communication skills are arranged in every semester.
The department is equipped with the infrastructural facilities like LCD’s, computer systems, Internet facility, overhead projectors, excellent library with digital source etc. The department through central library has subscribed number of national and international journals. The library is issuing the four books at free of cost to the twenty meritorious students for the particular semester under book bank scheme. The department is encouraging the sports activity also.
For on-the job training, department regularly arranges industrial visits, after Semester – II, students undergo for intensive Summer Internship Program of at-least 6 weeks duration in the area of specialization chosen. The experts from the sectors like banking, insurance, share markets, manufacturing industries etc regularly interacts with the students and share their domain knowledge. This activity gives them practical exposure and helps to bridge down the gap between corporate expectations & their inherent skills. Since its inception, MBA department has formed a separate training & placement cell which is taking care of summer internship program as well as generating placements regularly. The department is focusing on quality placement in various reputed companies.
