About Library

A Library equipped with latest books & periodicals forms the backbone of any educational Institute. In the present age of information explosion Libraries have attained the central position in all educational institutions. Central Library of Prof. Ram Meghe Institute of Technology & Research, Badnera was established in 1983. Since then this centre of self-learning has been playing an important role in supplementing academic activities and boosting research in the college. The central Library houses a total collection of over Seventy seven Thousand documents comprising of Reference, Text, e-Books & Thesis, also near about Two Thousand National & International e-Journals, compact discs,Bound volumes in the fields of Science, Engineering and Management. All in-house operation in the Library is fully computerized using the LibSys software, Barcode package that also provides web-based access to the online catalogue of Library.

The Library has extensive collection on science, Technology, Social science and Management as mention below. The Library is spread over Ground floor with the total covered area of 771 sqm.

Policies and Guide lines

All the students & faculty of the institute are entitled for the membership of the Library. The Library has approximately 4000 valid members as in March 2019.

Computer and Network Infrastructure in the Library

The central Library has fairly well-Developed computer and Network infrastructure to facilitate use of its computer and web-based services. The Library has its own sub-LAN, which in turn, is connected to the campus LAN. The Library has 19 Internet enabled PCs and two servers for LibSys software & NPTEL. Two PCs are exclusively kept for OPAC search. The Library is a part of fiber optic-based campus-LAN,which in turn, is hooked to a 100 Mbps BSNL leased link.

Library Computerization

The central Library has computerized all its activities including Acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials control using LibSys-4 software package. The central Library uses Barcode Technology for computerized system. All documents bear barcodes and every authorized user has a bar coded patron card, which in turn facilitates their identification in circulation process. The Library has developed in-house facility for bar coding of books & patron cards.
